1. About the Right to Information

The Right to Information Act, 2005 empowers citizens to seek information from public authorities to promote transparency and accountability. As a statutory body, the Punjab Professional Allied & Healthcare Council facilitates access to information in accordance with the Act.

3. How to file an RTI request

• Write your request in English, Hindi or Punjabi, clearly stating the information sought.
• Provide your name and a contact address for the reply.
• Address it to the Public Information Officer of the Council at the office address below, or by the electronic means the Council notifies.
• Enclose the prescribed application fee.

4. Fees

An application fee is payable as prescribed under the applicable RTI fee rules, along with per-page charges for photocopies where applicable. Applicants below the poverty line are exempt from fees on production of a valid certificate. [The Council to confirm the exact fee and mode of payment.]

5. Response time

Information is ordinarily provided within 30 days of receipt of a valid request. Where the information concerns the life or liberty of a person, it is provided within 48 hours. Timelines are as specified under the RTI Act, 2005.

6. Appeals

If you do not receive a response within the stipulated time, or are not satisfied with the response, you may file a first appeal with the First Appellate Authority within 30 days. A second appeal lies with the appropriate Information Commission as provided under the Act.

7. Proactive (suo motu) disclosure

Under Section 4 of the RTI Act, the Council endeavours to publish key information proactively — including its functions, constitution under the NCAPH Act, 2021, organisational structure, notifications and contact details — so that citizens need to make minimum use of the Act to obtain information.
